Sant’Agata sui due Golfi is the most important fraction of Massa Lubrense and it was named after the picturesque landscape that is able to offer a panorama that with just one glance, makes it possible to admire all the wonders of the Bay of Naples and the Gulf of Salerno.

The wonderful little old town of Sant’Agata is also very pretty. Over the years, it has developed more and more to accommodate tourists. Here you can find bars, restaurants offering typical dishes of the culinary traditions of the Campania and several small shops. We should not forget of course the church of St. Agata which is one of the most beautiful and fascinating religious buildings in all of Italy, where you can see the beautiful altar made of mother of pearl and trimming with marble inlays that dates back no less than the year 1600. The church is surrounded with many other treasures such as numerous frescoes and paintings dating back to the 16th century and a beautiful statue of St. Agata. There is a legend about this church. It is about a wolf that had taken the daughter of a certain Marcantonio Festinese. The man had asked “Our Lady” to help him find his daughter safe and sound. “Our Lady” granted his wish, so he then decided to build a temple on the site wheer he found his daughter, thus, was born the church that initially was called Santa Maria di Casafestina in memory of its founder. Only in 1566 the church of St. Agata became the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie church, which was expanded in later years and became the largest building that can now be seen visited.

How to Reach Sant’Agata sui due Golfi
- By car: From Naples take the A3 Napoli – Salerno and exit at Castellammare di Stabia. Take the S.S. 145, following the signs for Vico Equense – Sorrento;  Finally, at the junction of Meta di Sorrento, follow the signs for Amalfi – Positano, continuing to St. Agata sui due Golfi, where the indications will lead you to our apartments (Follow Oasi Olimpia Relais).
